Energy consumption
Energy consumption should be divided into two factors, knowing:
- Standby consumption of your spa (without making use of it).
- Energy consumption while using your spa.
It is very important to note that the location of your spa is essential for the energy cost of your spa. A spa that will cool faster in cold high winds, on a frozen ground, etc. Also important: how is the Spa isolated, is there a separate circulation pump, how thick is the cover, is the soil isolated?
Power consumption of a spa / Jacuzzi: For example a spa Hydro Spa Essence Model:
• 2 pumps 1865 W / 2.5 HP / 8.1 A
• a filtration pump 138 W / 0.18 HP / 0.6 A
• a blower 1250 W / 5.4 A
• a heating 3000 W / 13 A
• 1 Ozone 95 W / 0.4 A
A total of 27.5 amps Required connection for full operation = 32 Amps
Consumption in stand-by mode per day:
circulator: 138 W x 24 hr = 3312 W
heating: 3000 W * hr x 3 = 9000 W (* depending on the location of the spa)
flushing program 2 x 3 minutes a day = 498 W Ozone: W = 2280
Total consumption: 15.09 kW x 365 = 5508 kW per year
Daily rate 2000 Kw (example)
Nightly Rate 3500 kW (example)
Consumption calculated according to standard supplier + / - € 1050, - per year.
Consumption per hour using your spa.
• jet pumps: 2 x 1865 W x 1 hour = 3730 W
• Blower: 1250 W x 1 / 2 hr = 1250 W
Total: 4.98 kW x € 0.21 p / kW = € 1.04 (extra charge consumption per hour, plus heating and above costs)
Consumption cost per year of your spa including use 2x p / week 1.5 hours a:
Standby costs around € 881 per year,
- Consumption based costs of approximately € 120,
- Total costs per year approx € 1000, - (divide by 12 months = 83.33 per month)
NOTE: This is an example calculation, this is not legally binding. above calculations are based on standard conditions and energy prices may vary by customer which deviations occur, considering day and night fare.
